Sodexo has announced the renovation of three modern retail shops, in Akrotiri, Episkopi, and Dekelia, in cooperation with Laiko Cosmos.
This project has been completed as part of the four year contract the two companies share. Last March, both companies came to an agreement for the distribution and sale of duty free goods for the British Forces.
Aiming to further improve their customer service, Sodexo in partnership with Laiko Cosmos, restructured their duty free shops to meet the specifications and standards of those of international airports.
These shops can be found in the extent of the British Forces supermarkets, and are appropriately designed for the placement of products such as: cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, wines, cosmetics, perfumes, and toys.
The duty free stores have been operating successfully since August and its customers benefit from the service of properly skilled staff.

Η διαδικασία παραγωγής των τσιπς περιλαμβάνει τέσσερα βασικά στάδια με το καθένα να έχει επιμέρους διαδικασίες.
Το Πρώτο στάδιο αφορά το πλύσιμο της πατάτας, τον καθαρισμό από το χώμα και την απομάκρυνση τυχών ξένων σωμάτων. Ακολουθεί η αποφλοίωση και στη συνέχεια μια πρώτη διαλογή με οπτικό έλεγχο για να αφαιρεθούν πατάτες οι οποίες δεν ανταποκρίνονται στα πρότυπα. Ακολουθεί το κόψιμο της πατάτας με ειδικά μαχαίρια που δίνουν και το σχήμα της επιφάνειας των τσιπς. Τέλος, ένα δεύτερο πλύσιμο για την απομάκρυνση του αμύλου από την επιφάνια. Το δεύτερο στάδιο αφορά το τηγάνισμα των τσιπς με λάδι το οποίο ανανεώνεται συνεχώς για να διατηρείται φρέσκο. Το τρίτο στάδιο, είναι η επικάλυψη με τις διάφορες γεύσεις. Τελευταίο στάδιο είναι η συσκευασία και η τοποθέτηση των συσκευασιών σε πακέτα.
Σύμφωνα με τον Διευθυντή Εργασιών, Λάμπρο Αργυρίδη, το Λαϊκό Καφεκοπτείο χρησιμοποιεί αποκλειστικά κυπριακή πατάτα για την παρασκευή των τσιπς, γνωστές σε Κύπρο και εξωτερικό για τη νοστιμιά και την ποιότητά τους. «Συνεργαζόμαστε με Κύπριους πατατοπαραγωγούς οι οποίοι χρησιμοποιούν διαδικασίες της καλής αγροτικής πρακτικής σύμφωνα με τα ευρωπαϊκά πρότυπα. Οι πατάτες που χρησιμοποιούμε προέρχονται από συγκεκριμένες ποικιλίες με χαρακτηριστικά που δίνουν στο τελικό προϊόν περισσότερη γεύση και τραγανή απόλαυση», σημείωσε.
Δεν υπάρχει κανένα πρόβλημα στην επάρκεια των πρώτων υλών για την παραγωγή των τσιπς πέρα από μια μικρή περίοδο το χειμώνα, όταν υπάρχουν κακές καιρικές συνθήκες με αποτέλεσμα να καθυστερεί η εκρίζωση των πατατών της χειμερινής σοδειάς.
Όπως εξηγεί ο κ. Αργυρίδης, τα προϊόντα του Λαϊκού παραμένουν υψηλά στις προτιμήσεις του Κύπριου καταναλωτή λόγω της αναγνωρισημότητας των προϊόντων και της εμπιστοσύνης στο όνομα της εταιρίας, που διαχρονικά έχει κερδίσει από τον καταναλωτή με τη σταθερή ποιότητα και τη συνεχή αναβάθμιση των προϊόντων της.

A golden evening was enjoyed by friends of Zivana LOEL on Wednesday, 25th of November at Xavi Lounge Bar & Restaurant in Limassol, during the presentation of the new Zivana Gold and Zivana Red, two products added to the range of the LOEL distillery.
Officials and associates of LaikoCosmos had the chance to enjoy the two new flavours of Zivana LOEL, which is at the leading manufacturer of aged Zivana due to the expertise, the careful selection of raw materials and love for the Cypriot tradition.
Zivana Gold is distilled from the best local grape varieties, Xynisteri and Black, is aged in a French oak barrel for seven to eight years, where a small dose of pure mountain honey is added. The smooth golden colour and the light taste, traits of Zivana Gold, are the result of this aging process and the assimilation of the natural wood and honey aromas.
In contrast, Zivana Red is kept underground in stainless steel containers for two to three months, where ground cinnamon is added which gives Zivana Red its aroma and colour.
Accompanied by live Greek music, Participants had the opportunity to sample new signature cocktails with Zivana Red as the base and taste “tweaked” Cypriot flavours, by Kostas Nikolaides, the owner of the Alchemy Bartending School. In support to the “Poto me Metro” program (or Drink in Moderation), there was a bus available from Nicosia to Limassol and back for the safe transfer of friends and guests.
