Laiko Cosmos Trading, in collaboration with Oros Maxaira announced an original and commendable effort to the rescue the bees. With the purchase of each pack of Oros Maxaira Blossom Honey 480 gr. squeeze, a free sachet of seasonal seeds is offered on pack in order to encourage consumers to plant them in pots and later in their garden.

This action falls within the framework of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the two companies, in an effort to highlight the importance of the bee and its preservation in our ecosystem and to raise awareness of the public in order to assist in the process of rescuing the bees. The seed envelope is offered on the packaging from this November and is available for sale in all major supermarkets and smaller outlets throughout Cyprus.

According to recent surveys, honey bees – wild and domestic – perform about 80 percent of all pollination worldwide. A single bee colony can pollinate 300 million flowers each day. Grains are primarily pollinated by the wind, but fruits, nuts and vegetables are pollinated by bees. Seventy-one out of the top 100 human food crops – which supply about 90 percent of the world’s nutrition – are pollinated by bees. Without the bees, millions of people and animals on planet Earth would suffer from food deprivation.

The representatives of the two companies, Laiko Cosmos Trading and Oros Maxaira, stated that the existence of the bee in our environment is necessary, since thanks to this and other insects, such as wild bees and butterflies that pollinate the plants, reproduce food, both for humans and for the rest of the animals of our ecosystem. Believe it or not, we have a bee to thank for every one in three bites of food we eat.

It is our duty to contribute to the rescue of the bees, and we hope that this small action    will add in the overall effort to protect them.

‘Clean It Up’ for a better world! – A CSR activation by Elcafe

As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programme, Laiko Cosmos with the brand ELCAFE and their advertising agency The Lobsters, held three ‘Clean It Up’ volunteer days in Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol.

The ‘Clean It Up’ initiative, included the clearing of litter from roads, neighbourhoods and beaches, sending a clear message, that with a little time, we can all contribute to the protection and improvement of our environment.

An ecological consciousness is not just about volunteering but should be a commitment and way of life for each of us.

Pokka Coffee participated in UniFEST, a festival organized by StudentLife, in order to welcome students Back to University!

Pokka Coffee participated in three different universities as below:

  1. September 19th at the University of Cyprus
  2. October 3rd at the European University and
  3. October 7th at University of Nicosia,

Those who were fortunate to attend Unifest, had the opportunity to play our game (Tic-Tac-Toe),   and enter a competition draw for the chance to win a Samsung Galaxy Fit watch. In addition, everyone got a stress ball and their favourite Pokka coffee flavour as a gift.

elit PRESENTS TALES OF ICE AND FIRE

Fire starts at -18 degrees Celsius, or so elit tells us, however this open air party took place at +28 on the roof pool bar at Radisson Blu, Larnaca, featuring a wide array of unique elit cocktails. The evening featured entertainment by a live jazz band, which enchanted the guests who enjoyed unique cocktails made out with elit Ultra Luxury Vodka.

On Wednesday September 11,Laiko Cosmos Trading organized,  an unprecedented event at the Balthazar Café & Roof Terrace in Nicosia celebrating the beginning of its collaboration with Pokka International PTE. Exceptional guests, from the field of media, politicians as well as other associates and customers of the company, had the chance to live a unique coffee experience. The guests enjoyed the six different flavors of POKKA under the slogan ‘Live the coffee experience’, which is the main slogan of the new Pokka coffee campaign.
